sammysmiths
How do you tell the difference between a genuine Rolex bracelet and a rep? I have a gen Sub 14060 1999 that came on the old style bracelet (before glidelock straps). How do I know if the strap is gen or rep?
freddy333
It depends entirely on the details of the particular bracelets in question. Some of the best replica bracelets are very difficult to tell apart from the genuine article. If you read some of the older threads about Yuki 720x rivet bracelets, you will see what I mean. That said, most people cannot tell the difference between average reps & gens, so the knowledge, experience & sensitivity of the viewer plays a large part. alligoat
Correct bracelet for the 14060 would be the 93150 with 501B end pieces. So start with that and then look on the clasp- on the inside blades will be 93150 and above that will be a code which is a date code- correct code for 1999 is X. If the bracelet dates from later, another date code would be present. S code is for 1994, but I believe S also can denote a service bracelet. There are other tells on rep bracelets, so pics would help if you're in doubt.
sammysmiths
I definitely have the 93150 stamp but no date letter? Also the 501B end links, I would say the B looks more like an 8 but my eyesight is not that good. Might have to do some macro photography and post more details. alligoat
The 'B' will be below the 501.
