TC's movement are actually marketed in Germany

I was just browsing for some movements, and found this:

Actually you can buy TC movements directly from this seller. Interesting.

Doesn't look like a TC 2824 to me- look at the cut outs in the plates. I'd figure this is a German site that's selling movements, no connection to TC that I can see

Guess you are right and I was jumping to conclusions. The baseplate is totally different and there are a lot of other differences too.
