jfreeman420 Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 Guy I used to work for was a big watch collector. The dealer would come to the office once a month and my boss owned many Rolexes, Franck Muller, Panerai, etc. Every year we had our Christmas party on a 200 ft chartered yacht and the boss would wear his black Versace tux and his platinum iced Rolex Masterpiece. He got a great deal at $150,000. I usually wear my iced gold masterpiece (replica) to such functions if anyone is curious.

Quarks Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 Saw a couple of ROOs here in Singapore, a few PAMs, and someone browsing at Hour Glass strapped with a Patek, can't get close enough to see which model. Interesting this happened today, there is a Richard Mille Boutique here in Singapore which just opened its doors about a week ago. I have been wanting to drop by for the past few days but the weather has been crazy so I did not get the chance. Bugger. However, today, the weather seemed fine and decided to head down - mainly due to the fact that I had an opportunity 2 days ago to fiddle some of Richards Mille's models at my AD - RM002, RM010 & RM005. These watches are amazing. I was so mesmerised by the construction of these watches. The materials RM used, the movements (I was very intrigue by the use of gears in the pieces which allocates for winding the watch, changing the time - basically halts the tourbillon mvt for accurate time adjustments and neutral - releases the gears after time has been set), the casing, basically everything about the watch I love. Anyways, so I was there today, and the boutique is amazing, located outside of Mandarin Hotel, the boutique resembles a mini museum. Each timepiece were displayed individually in the glass casing accompanied by a list of specs for the watch.... Out of the sudden at the corner of my eye, I spotted someone familiar..... Ah! Mr. Richard Mille himself. He was at the hotel entrance discussing some matters on the newly opened boutique. We exchanged smiles to each other and that was it. Upon inquiring through the staff, I was told that the official opening is this coming Monday... Having the chance to handle these timepieces have left me dumbfounded, and to witness the man himself in person is nothing short of amazing. I have an eye for RM003 but the price is over the top, the entry level RM010 looks good but RM003, RM008 and RM012 are some serious business I long to have..... I shall dream on. But hey, dreams do come true. One day... in time.
