I own a gen Breitling Steelfish and I was wondering what makes this watch waterproof up to 2000m / 6600 ft?

There are 3 possible water entry points right (not including the HEV)?

- Crystal

- Crown/ stem

- Case back

So why is this watch waterproof up to 2000m and a replica Submariner for example at most 50m?

Both have steel case, rubber gaskets, pressed crystal and a specific torque needed to fasten the case back and crown...

Any experts on this area?

Manufacturing, assembly, post-production quality controls... raw materials, how rep parts match when assembled. A rep is manufactured very fast, and those key parts for waterproofing are not so good quality (in most of them). Example: a crystal not correctly assembled it's a water entry point. Not having inside O ring in case tube facilitate water visiting your mechanism... etc. My MBW 16610 came without tube inner O ring (although it was 50 mtr. resistant). Now it is near 100 mtr. after: inner O ring added, genuine crown and tube, crystal pressed. Maybe this can give you a clue.
