I see on Intime's website they have the Sea-dweller 2017 Baselworld 126600 by ARF which I quite fancy. However, their version has the A2824 movement. The other version of the same watch is by VRF with an A2836 movement. I'm very familiar with the A2836 and have had very good results in both my Deepsea's, one of which (after several months of tinkering) keeps better time than my genuine Sub. What's the principal difference between the A2836 and the A2824? As I have plenty of spares for the A2836, that would be preferable, but the ARF version looks like its a better quality version. Any useful tips would be much appreciated. Have been away for a while, so sorry if this is revisiting something already covered. Thanks. They may advertise A2824 and it is actually a an A2836 and vice versa. Essentially the difference is a 2836-2 handles the extra Day / Date complication unneeded in a sub with a date only complication. The Asian clones of the two are equally reliable. RichardLike what yllekp said, rhe A2836 and A2824 are equally reliable. One key difference is that the A2836 is slightly thicker than its counterpart, and as such, the crown position on the A2836 seadweller will be slightly lower. Also the A2836 has an instant date flip (like the Rolex caliber 3135/3235) vs the slight roll, and then the flip over of the date minutes later. Anyway, it is possible to modify the base watch (whichever version you choose) to accept the either movement, there is good interchangeability between the two, though the datewheels are different and will need a Rolex dwo, for example, if you opt to switch from an A2824 movement to an A2836 movement. I personally prefer the A2836 movement over the A2824 and I’m modifying an A2824 ARF seadweller to become an ETA2836 movement version one.
