Considering a first franken project

Hi all

 

I’m considering my first franken project - a DSSD.

 

Can anyone give me pointers on the best source for gen parts?

 

I’m most interested in a gen dial and/or hands, as those seem the hardest to rep well but am open to any advice or other views of course.

Chrono24 is a good website to get gen parts, the parts come from all over the world on that site.

Not sure how readily available the parts are for the DSSD..

   

If budgets and/or availability if gen parts are a concern, I’d go with a 16610 build. 

JF 16610 base.   Send off for movement service and maybe some gen movement parts, gen bezel insert, gen crystal, gen crown,   All in under $2000 and very hard to tell apart from gen.

I’ll just go slow and pick up gen parts if/as I can I think.
