AlexM Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 Hi Folks ! I want to buy a Genuine GMT-Master 16750 of 1982. But there is a problem, the watch comes without box and papers, so I want to be sure that this watch is GENUINE. Watch the pictures of this watch : And what do you think about the price ? It's 2700€. Too expensive for a watch without box/paper ?
By-Tor Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 The watch in the picture looks genuine. Can't say much about the price... but it sounds high (without paperwork).
docblackrock Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 Yep, pictures are of a gen 16750. Price is on high side, more 1675 price than 16750 (even though it's a smaller run transitional model) I would ask for pics of movt, case back, serial lugs, in fact the serial so you can check with Rolex. Good luck but if in doubt, trust your instincts and walk away IMO.
AlexM Posted January 16, 2007 Author Report Posted January 16, 2007 Ok thank you for the information. What is a reasonnable price for this model without box/paper ?
alligoat Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 I would call 2700 euros a "retail" price, and 2250-2500 euros would be more of a wholesale figure. Most 1982 watches aren't going to have the box and papers, and you don't say who the dealer is, but the pictures look good to me also. As they say, buy the dealer first, then the watch.
Ozzy Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 i wondor what they are hiding in the bottom left hand corner in each picture. A domain name? Stolen puctures? Or perhaps it was just where the camara had recorded the date and time.
AlexM Posted January 17, 2007 Author Report Posted January 17, 2007 What i hide on the pics is the url of the seller But I think too, that the watch is too expensive.
