My First 6152/1 Adventure (Pics Heavy

Hi everyone,

All started about two years ago while I was surfing on the net for a gen dive watch search and after an extensive reading ended up with buying a hommage case from davidsen about two months ago. Shortly after I was delighted the case I decided to give it a go for the case work. What could have happened anyway? The worst could be ending up in the bin. Otherwise, I would have been a proud bearer of rep of an impossible and unaffordable beauty. I think I could achieve a mid case somewhere in between, but rather on the plus side. Through this period, I mostly, in fact, solely talked about the development of the case and so many other issues with Kilowattore. So I owe him a lot. Thanks so much mate.

So much said

Here are the photos of the case work in three phases

Last phase. Finished case shaping today. I don't think there is gonna be any more improvement that can be made. Maybe, some more elbow grease to make it look shinier. Please share your comments with me

Looking great so far!

Before assembly, may I recommend consideration of an Athaya crown instead?

The sharper angles on it are more notably more accurate imho.

What will go under the hood?

Thanks

Athaya crown is on my list. I'm waiting for him to come back from his trip

The engine will be a 40-50 year old original Unitas 6497

Do you have any suggestions for the case shaping? What more can be done?

Tried to blue to case by heating with lighter, but obtained a yellowish and brownish colour pattern.

And the dial. It goes slowly, but gradually getting a more worn out look. All unintentionallya4c903211efcbfed4abc964e55d64b17.jpgf464e77b7baf390d9fbcc01fe59bdaf0.jpga3d316f0bb3f3560d8351781044e0844.jpgff90402324a8eee24aaec9caf9703170.jpg

To blue the case and get a even color you'll need a jewellery oven or pottery oven to get the right temperature.

I have a color/temperature chart somewhere so I'll search for it and post it here.

BTW ... may I suppose your cork says "vieillit dans nos chais" ?

So you're a French wine fan, congrats !!!

Oui monsieur, je les aime tant que vous n'imaginez

And yes I need something that would supply a steady stream of heat. But I just wanted to have the effect here and there. I'll take close up shots
