ceocorona
In the process of acquiring a RJ 1675 that needs a new insert. The one installed is to my tastes (maybe I am wrong?). I am not new to vintage with a '87 Speedy and a 70s DJ. But I have not known stress like it has been to shop a nice Pepsi insert... Between the goals of "period correct/close" , to "perfect" level of patina, avoiding reps/aftermarket, and budget... I've spent many nights trying to strike that balance. Looking for any tips from the pros when it comes to insert shopping. I bought one already, and will be heading into NYC tomorrow to visit a store to see another. Maybe I am over thinking it? What do you guys think of the one currently installed vs the one I purchased... Still checking another one out tomorrow... current insert newly purchased (yay or no? improvement or no. more importantly gen or no.......) back of Edited February 21, 2019 by ceocorona pictures

I like the freshness of the new one. It could make the dial pop. I'm not an expert in inserts, so I can't help you in that regard, but I love the watch overall. A 1675 Blueberry with solid red GMT hand, and a 6542 are both on my "must have" list. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
JSebWC
The new one will be an improvement. If that is a gen insert it is from a 16750 I am still a bit rusty on IDing inserts I buy my rep inserts onl eBay and age them myself. I could help you out with that If you need one and have a specific fade in mind. A selection of a couple of my favourites Sky blue / cherry red. Denim / salmon and Sky blue and light rose Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ceocorona
Those inserts look great! I may consider some alternatives to spice up the bezel. Gen insert and bracelet arrive next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

panerai153
I’m very much old school, so to me the faded insert that’s on the watch is by far the best. If this were a new watch, or one freshly back from a RSC with a new shiny service dial, new crystal and a polished case, I could see a new insert, but that’s not what you have here. A beautiful old watch that has aged gracefully.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
s2fuse
I agree with above, Your current insert looks the best to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
