lovepanerai Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 just received this monster today from a fellow member - this is the rare Watchhonpo version with AR crystal, screwed in bezel markers and better/deeper engraving on the back...I am in love and yes it is HUGE The Back - my birthday is on a 13th so the serial is absolutely for me The Wristshots - I have a small wrist so it will take some getting used to
Watchmeister Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Enjoy it. It is a really nice watch. As the owner of one who has learned the hard way let me pass on one piece of advice - do not over polish those bezel markers. They are copper with a thin coating of chrome. I learned the hard way.

Pugwash Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 If you're ever in need of parking your cross-channel ferry, it's good to know you're carrying a spare anchor on your wrist.
lovepanerai Posted January 21, 2007 Author Report Posted January 21, 2007 If you're ever in need of parking your cross-channel ferry, it's good to know you're carrying a spare anchor on your wrist. that's exactly what it feels like - good for us deskjockeys though as it constitutes a work out that you can always have with you
Pugwash Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 that's exactly what it feels like - good for us deskjockeys though as it constitutes a work out that you can always have with you I may just get myself a pair of these to keep my arms fit. Oh, wait. my right arm gets plenty of exercise.
lovepanerai Posted January 21, 2007 Author Report Posted January 21, 2007 I may just get myself a pair of these to keep my arms fit. Oh, wait. my right arm gets plenty of exercise. it is actually not that heavy...201.28 g
Pugwash Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 it is actually not that heavy...201.28 g With a non-metal strap? Wow. That's the same weight as my PO with a metal strap.
lovepanerai Posted January 21, 2007 Author Report Posted January 21, 2007 With a non-metal strap? Wow. That's the same weight as my PO with a metal strap. just with the rubber pictured - I just put it on my scales ;-)
Pugwash Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 just with the rubber pictured - I just put it on my scales ;-) I put my PO on the scales with the 3.5 links removed to make it fit my wrist and it's near as dammit 200 grammes on my kitchen scales.
lovepanerai Posted January 21, 2007 Author Report Posted January 21, 2007 I put my PO on the scales with the 3.5 links removed to make it fit my wrist and it's near as dammit 200 grammes on my kitchen scales. I had no idea the PO is that heavy - or is the 187 that light??
Pugwash Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 I had no idea the PO is that heavy - or is the 187 that light?? 200 grammes is a lot for a watch. The 45mm PO is the heaviest watch I can comfortably wear.
Watchmeister Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 The gen weighs about the same and it has white gold markers.
PureTime Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Really nice watch Rupert, but the quality of the rubber strap is not that good from the pics, you will need my ultimate carbon strap :-P
Watchmeister Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Angus- I suspect that when the buckle finally comes out in the engraved version you will have quite a few takers. It is a must have for any 187 or 194 owner.
Dario33 Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Awesome 187 you have there! Is the movement 7750v1 or v2? If v1, any plans to make it swiss7750?
lovepanerai Posted January 21, 2007 Author Report Posted January 21, 2007 Really nice watch Rupert, but the quality of the rubber strap is not that good from the pics, you will need my ultimate carbon strap :-P thanks Angus and yes please we need the ultimate carbon strap Awesome 187 you have there!
