chyrule
Was there any modification need to put a gen 703 crown..? I'm looking at doing the same with my build, but have heard I need to change the tube and drill the hole and retap for the tube. So curious if it is a straight swap. Lovely build bro. Absolutely my favourite submariner also.
nick1972
Yes, you need to retap the tube, don't needed to drill! The retap is very easy if you have the tools. Lubrication is very important!
chyrule
Would a 3 x 3.5mm tap be the correct size.? What lubricant would u recommend I use.? Just any cutting oil or would wd40 work? Thanks for advice bro, really appreciative of it.
nick1972
Yes, a M3 x 0.35 is the correct tapsize. Use a cutting oil!
freddy333
Since this type of work is neither high speed nor high torque, any oil will do. Just be sure to keep the tap straight (ie, be careful not to misthread) & work easy, steady & slow.
