Watchmeister Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 The 7753 Daylight reps are some of my favorites. Enjoy. The illusory Pandas recased in old cases, Finepics datewheels and dials relumed and coated with a finely applied matte over the whole dial to tone down the overall dial sheen and bring the subdials closer to gen: White Panda - And yes, I know the subdial hands are lying loose: Black Panda The Panda Pair: You have to love those old school cases The Classics: 196: 188: And finally the group shot: The best part of these watches is that I always feel good about modding them knowing that these watches will last a lifetime. What's next: Finepics datewheels for the 188 and 196, matte lacquer for the 188 and Palp 2.0's for all of them whenever he actually does the next run.
ubiquitous Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 WOW! That is a stunning duo of Pandas! Not to mention what looks to be no less than FOUR 7753 Daylights?! That's what I call over the top...
Watchmeister Posted February 8, 2007 Author Report Posted February 8, 2007 Coming from Mr. Daytona I take that as a compliment. You know it is only a matter of time. Either that or get the name of the guy on 47th street.
ubiquitous Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 What can I say... You've got a very nice quartet of PAM chronographs here; what's more, I know that this is just a small part of the overall collection Oh, and BTW... Since when do you post pics of your watches?! Hope this is a continuing trend, as I'd love to see more of the kruzer00 collection...
pizzanooo Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Very nice 4-some, definitely lots of time & effort has gone into these. Very cool, nice post.
Watchmeister Posted February 8, 2007 Author Report Posted February 8, 2007 Ubi- You are so right. With watches in four countries and a certain ROcky Mountain state it is difficult to ever get them together. Pizzanooo- Thanks for the props. But I have four thumbs. I simply think stuff up and folks like Ubi and Ziggy make it happen.
HauteHippie Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Kruzer I have long been waiting for these pictures from you. They've all turned out fantastic so far. My old case 7753 196 is easily my favorite rep, and that datewheel makes me very jealous. I can only hope the 7753 187 is the impetus for a new run of wheels. But enough about me, congrats to you!! You have got to be thrilled.
Watchmeister Posted February 8, 2007 Author Report Posted February 8, 2007 Chief- I'm with you - old school. Original movement PAM's in old cases. And I am thrilled. Thanks.
lovepanerai Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 very nice kruzer - I also love my 196 old case 7753 and I am jealous about the datewheel - I would have put it in the 196 though or do you have 2

Ok, I've just acquired a 188 7753, and I've got a datewheel to install. Is the matte finish on the dial a The Zigmeister service, or must I go elsewhere?
Watchmeister Posted May 26, 2007 Author Report Posted May 26, 2007 Ziggy did it on mine but it depends which version of the 188 you bought. If you got it new from one of the dealers it mostl likely has the improved dial with thicker hour font. It may not need it. Mine is one of the first gen with better case but crappier dial. In fact I just received the new dial to put in mine a couple of days ago. On the Pandas the matte spray is a must as it dulls down the sub-dials on both versions to make it much closer to gen prototype.
TwoTone Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 I love my 188... Have a sweet Gabo Strap on it that I picked up from Deltahoe... It gets regular wear... Nice collection K... TT
Watchmeister Posted May 26, 2007 Author Report Posted May 26, 2007 Why thank you TT. You don't suppose a couple of gen crowns might spruce them up? By the way if you have a pick with the gabo on it please put it up. I love those straps.
TwoTone Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 By the way if you have a pick with the gabo on it please put it up. I love those straps. Took a few quickies for ya... Although it wouldn't of mattered if they were Longies... I can't shoot for shit...
baltic Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Lovely watches! I've just acquired a 7753 196 and it'll be off to The Zigmeister soon!
sssurfer Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Oh my! What a stunning piece of a collection!
swdivad Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Beautiful watches and impressive numbers!!! I think the daylights are one of the very finest pieces out there!! Wear them well!
Watchmeister Posted May 26, 2007 Author Report Posted May 26, 2007 TT- Kick ass strap. Is it comfy on the wrist? D- I thought you were nuts when you did that one but it is stunning. By the way PVD looks great within the realm of PVD (you know what I mean). I am guessing TiAln?
marsupilami Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 @kruzer00 please tell me my 196/7753 case & crystal is not lost with finepics... your pics kill me...
Watchmeister Posted May 26, 2007 Author Report Posted May 26, 2007 No I know he hasn't lost anything. I am just having a heck of a time getting him to do anything. We gotta get him his girlfriend back. Here is a profundity - chicks suck. Especially when they get in the way of our rep collecting. Oops, bad analogy. That is actually a good thing.

So then your point is that the old case was good, but the old dial was not as good. Damn. Well, I just got the old case, so now I'll set about finding a new dial. When purchasing one, I'm going to have to make sure that it's for the Swiss movement, correct?
Watchmeister Posted May 26, 2007 Author Report Posted May 26, 2007 Easy, I got mine along with the Aquatimer from Angus. And by the way I heard from Ziggy that it relumes better than the original rep dial as the lume "dots" are flat so you can shovel it on better.

I've just PMed him... now if I can just get him to read it. I sent him a PM over a week ago that he hasn't even read yet.
