evildee Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 (edited) Got my baby in. Finally. Strap Culture Antique Nut-Brown Calf w/ Beige Stitch. It is superb! Although I didn't get if from Epoch (RWI) he can get them for 20% off retail. Mine was 15% off from SC sale ad on the "risti" site. Okay, enough of me talking I'll let the pictures speak. Wrist shot... 6.75 inches. It looks big on me but I don't care I love this watch. And that's the way it should be. ------------------------OLD POST BELOW---------------------------- A little sumthin sumthin for now till I get my strap in. Edited February 11, 2007 by evildee
flavor flav Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 A little sumthin sumthin for now till I get my strap in. very cool! i suggest, with that extreme patina, you scratch the hell out of it with stel wool and make it look more vintage.
madasboot Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Too shiny for a vintage. Too much coffee on the numerals! If you want I can PM you a recipe. Cheers, Marco

Watchmeister Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Something about an $80,000 PAM with a pair of jeans.
flavor flav Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Something about an $80,000 PAM with a pair of jeans. if i had an $80,000 pam i'd walk around in my boxers and tell people "get out of my way! i have more money than you! don't look at me funny i have an $80,000 pam."
MADRED7 Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 .....hey E!....you did great on that piece....engraved inscription on dial, extrem patina (that one was deep down in the sea for 20 years, right?) and varnish to cover the indizees...cool. Now you have to get rid of that shine on the case Theo
V Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 I like it.. i really like the varnish on thenumerals.. As Theo said scratch the case and get rid of the polish finish.. no need to destroy the dial too... Plus you need a nice strap
evildee Posted February 8, 2007 Author Report Posted February 8, 2007 (edited) I did some work on the case with a coin. I want to do some scratches but not to the point that it's a brushed look. Maybe I should goto the park and grab some sand? Any tips? Edited February 8, 2007 by evildee
V Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 If you have a piggy bank with coins inside.. put the watch as well and start shaking Otherwise get a plastic bag put many coins in and again start shaking..
evildee Posted February 9, 2007 Author Report Posted February 9, 2007 (edited) What the heck. I decided on sandpaper. Edited February 9, 2007 by evildee

flavor flav Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 i like the coin bag idea! that's pure genius... it would create natural uneven nicks and scratches ...perfect...
linkukbora Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 If you have a piggy bank with coins inside.. put the watch as well and start shaking Otherwise get a plastic bag put many coins in and again start shaking.. Excellent idea......it would be best to mix with some protruding stuff
evildee Posted February 11, 2007 Author Report Posted February 11, 2007 I did the bag of coin trick initially. It's really tough to scratch up the case like that. It would take hours and hours. I thought of sand but dust will get in between the case and crystal. I think steal beads would do the trick or maybe BB's would work. But I wouldn't do it with the crystal attached. It just might break.
