Do Davidsen's 183 Crown Threads Strip?

Hi ,

hate to go on and on about the blasted 183 crown threads stripping BUT------- everyone seems to be impressed with the quality of Davidsens work (if not the accuracy)- do his threads strip like all the others?

What is his 183 rep blackseal like for accuracy etc?

Cheers for replying.

I've had around six of his screw down crowns. I actually got a few and replaced the existing ones on other watches. Not a one even started to show signs of stripping. Who knows what will happen over the course of years, but I think these are good quality and will hold up over time.

I'd love to know from those who have had the watch as well. Thats always been the breaking point for me on the 183. Any help would be appreciated on it and the accuracy... :victory:

Very bad dial.. not accurate at all. The seconds hand is double the size of the seconds subdial :o

But you will not have a problem with the stripping threads.. Decide what you want ;)

My suggestion? Buy the watch from a regular dealer and then buy this from Davidsen (i think it will fit normal rep cases):

Wow V! I never noticed that. I feel like an idiot. So by replacing the crown with davidsen's we should have accurate crown w/o stripping issue?

I am not shure about accuracy. Font are off white like they should be. Overall is nice looking, quality and already modded watch. Davidsen also installed swiss ETA movment for me.

Accuracy is not my main concern so i don't know much about that issue.

Anyone else out there have an opinion/information on Davidsen's 183 rep?
