Pugwash Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Was wondering how the new A7750 28K movement is in the daytona's? Any problems or they good to go? Same problems as the old ones.
elprimerozen Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 My brother has his daytona 28k on the wrist as a daily beater for 4-5 months now...in the shower, out, in,everywhere! So far is working perfect and keeps GREAT time!!What can i say...everytime i see negative post onthis watch i can not imagine that.....maybe its just me...or not???
mickyblues Posted February 17, 2007 Author Report Posted February 17, 2007 Well let me ask then, is the swiss 750 worth the money. It's something like $800 +, is this worth it?
elprimerozen Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Well let me ask then, is the swiss 750 worth the money. It's something like $800 +, is this worth it? NO NO NO
mickyblues Posted February 17, 2007 Author Report Posted February 17, 2007 NO NO NO Did your brother get his Daytona from one of the dealers in these forums?
elprimerozen Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Did your brother get his Daytona from one of the dealers in these forums? ..the watch came from Joshua...but the tip here is to ask form your dealer to testrun the watch for one day just to see that everithing runs smooth when you buy a watch with this movement....Josh always test run the watch he is sending to me.
ubiquitous Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 I've owned 5 of the mod 7750 Daytonas, and got rid of them all. I always feared for their longevity; the 7750 was never engineered for the modification necessary to play musical chairs with the subsidiary output. Having always wanted a Daytona, I opted to build using El Primero (16520) and Valjoux 23 (6265) movements. If I add anymore Daytonas to the collection, it will be more of the same. I just have a hard time feeling comfortable with the mod 7750, especially after Ziggy's evaluation on the movement...
elprimerozen Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 In my opinion you buy the daytona for one and only reason ...that you love the watch...and if it dies on you...you buy a new one,or try to save it.....for sure its not a watch to buy if you want long life for many many years.
ubiquitous Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Very true. If you love the watch and can't live without, it's worth buying. At least once...
Pugwash Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 Very true. If you love the watch and can't live without, it's worth buying. At least once... I'm going to have to get one at some point.
elprimerozen Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 I love this watch so much ...and now with new black dials from V!
ubiquitous Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 I must admit... If I were to ever buy another 7750 Daytona, it would probably be this one (which belongs to elprimerozen)...
elprimerozen Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 First its an honor for me to post a pic from my colection Ubi! Second this is realy a beautyful watch, very dificult to wear it on the wrist(i never had the BALLS to wear this Gold on the street) ....but the worst think on this gold Rolex is the very very bud 21600bph movement! Also i love this watch very much!
jec97t Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 The point about buying one if you love it...but not bc it is reliable is valid. I have a rep JaegerLecoultre complicated and it is gorgeous but very tricky...caveat emptor. Buy for looks but realize it is a rep and the price point is a giveaway...it is not the real thing and it doesn't carry warranty. JEC
mickyblues Posted February 18, 2007 Author Report Posted February 18, 2007 So even if I bought one and sent it out to someone like The Zigmeister to get fined tuned, you don't think it would last long? I read one of The Zigmeister's post on the new 7750 and he gave it good reviews. Any thoughts on this?
