z80
That looks fantastic. Shape the CG's a bit and you will have it just about perfect. I love the dial!!
Falco
Thanks the CGs, especially top one, need some shaving at the base.
miquel
That's great! Now I want one, too! I love all your projects, Falco.
alligoat
Very nice Falco. I agree with z80 on trimming the inside bottom edges of the cg's a little and I especially like your bezel insert with the gen pearl. By the way, what is a cwp insert? All in all, a great job resurrecting a bunch of old parts.
Falco
Thanks! cwp = http://classicwatchparts.com/ They offer some pretty nice stuff for vintages, good alternative if the gen parts are too expensive or can't be found If anyone's interested I liked the result with the dial with using some ash on a q-tip to just touch the dial markers before the paint sets. A clean q-tip cleans of excess ash after the paint has set. Can't really see it very well on the pics, but it gives a more grey/darker area in some dial marker areas which gives a vintage appearence. alligoat
Thanks for the link on Classic Watch Parts. They've added some stuff since I was last there 3-4 months ago. That 5512-13 bezel insert at $50 isn't too bad a price.
Falco
It's really the only 5513 aftermarket insert I've found that's made for the gen luminous dot and not the larger pearl
