Rlx 5513 Gilt with a twist of Bond, James.

Made completely of left-overparts I didn't want or couldn't use for other projects.

case from a Trusty's 1680 red sub, lugholes drilled, aged/polished case & bezel

cwp insert

gen insert-dot

MBW gilt dial, repainted and aged

Trusty hands, aged

cousins tube and Bodo OEM quality crown

gen 19 crystal

RTL NATO strap

All in all, a very fun & cheap project :D

Very nice Falco.

I agree with z80 on trimming the inside bottom edges of the cg's a little and I especially like your bezel insert with the gen pearl.

By the way, what is a cwp insert?

All in all, a great job resurrecting a bunch of old parts.

Thanks! :D

cwp = http://classicwatchparts.com/

They offer some pretty nice stuff for vintages, good alternative if the gen parts are too expensive or can't be found

If anyone's interested I liked the result with the dial with using some ash on a q-tip to just touch the dial markers

before the paint sets. A clean q-tip cleans of excess ash after the paint has set. Can't really see it very well on the pics,

but it gives a more grey/darker area in some dial marker areas which gives a vintage appearence.

Thanks for the link on Classic Watch Parts. They've added some stuff since I was last there 3-4 months ago. That 5512-13 bezel insert at $50 isn't too bad a price.

Thanks Joe, I imagine you must have tons of parts that must be laying around your house :D

Any fun projects going on with them?
