ryaku
I'd like to buy one of the new Iwc Pilot chrono and later replace the wrong date wheel (font is not right) with a new one. It's a marvellous replica and worths a correct date wheel. Lello could help us in such mod if we were at least 10-15. Anyone alse interested? Pugwash
Can someone show me the successful results of a custom datewheel project? I've seen several projects started, but haven't seen any pictures of the results.
chrgod
Yes!! I was thinking the same thing.. I don't have the Ingenieur , but if we could get the same Datewheel projects for the Breitling Evolution and the IWC Pilot Chrono, I would most definently join!! But, as Pug says... I have seen a lot of projects, but not many results..
Watchmeister
Pug- Here is the MBW version. http://www.rwg.cc/members/Watchmeister-V30...els-t16311.html That one is fully tested on four different watches and will be offered this week. We also have just completed setting up the payment and shipment arrangements. Similarly the PAM Asian 7750 is now done in prototype form as well but we are in the process of testing on numerous PAM's as we did on the MBW's before offering for sale. In truth we had already done the IWC art work and have the dies made up for it but backed off when we saw Lello was going to offer this. If he elects not to do it we can gear up in a period of a few days. What I don't know is if all IWC datewheels are the same as we used the datewheel from a different IWC as our model. Pugwash
That one is fully tested now and will be offered this week. ... and I'll take two, please. The point is, I've seen plenty of projects started and I have faith they'll finish at some point, but to my knowledge it's not happened yet. Watchmeister
Fair point. We have probably been too cautious but we don't want any subsequent disasters. We are all aware of projects that have both gone well and been a disaster. Nothing is sold before being tested on multiple watches by our QC person. The other problem is we have real jobs. I hate it when that happens.
chrgod
Yep... Very interesting. Personally, as with many others I think, I want a relative simple product I can slip right into my watch without modification. I decase a movement and remove the hands and dial.. But the extensive mods and parts search that a MBW require is out of my interest.. So, I belive a staight-swap datewheel for the Chronomat Evo and IWC Pilot should reach a wider audience than those interested in the vintage Rollies.. Anyway.. As an Engineer, I bet I finally must have the Inge..with the correct date wheel
