Took The Plunge

I had a fallen hour marker on my 4th gen PO. Apparently this is a common problem with this piece and eventually after receiving much good advice from The Zigmeister, Finepics and Edges tutorial I decided to take the plunge and try it myself. It went well although I only started taking pictures once the hour marker had been stuck back on. I guess I've learned that I'm capable of taking the movement out of a watch and changing the crown, crown tube, dial, hands etc is all within reach! I would never dream of playing around with the movement itself but I'm really pleased that I've taken this small step!!!

Here are all the parts layed out...

The hardest bit was getting the bracelet back on to be honest! Anyway, the point of this post is really to say that I will be contemplating some mods in the future, all you've got to do is take the 1st step. And if I can do it, ANYONE can!!!!!

Good luck!!

Dcrooz - congrats, looks great. I got the back off and started to go for the movement the other day , but nothing was wrong with it so I thought I better not dig in just yet... but expect to get some PM's from me if that happens to my 4th gen !! :whistling:

Thanks Guys! Really, I'm not particularly gifted when it comes to this sort of stuff but it is satisfying, and not that hard. Worth bearing in mind that this really is down the lower end of the scale of watch repairs in terms of complexity but still, I'm pleased with the work I've done, I've saved myself some money and I'm once again wearing my PO!!!!
