  1. Sorry, I'm clearly paranoid about this! Any idea what happens in the event it's been seized in China? I guess it already has my name and address linked to it so if there were any repercussions I would have had them by now.
  2. Thanks kbh, appreciate you taking the time. Sounds like good advice.
  3. Funny thing is I did send it 'international signed for' with tracking number etc on 2nd August. The tracking states the following: Your item, posted on 02/08/12 with reference RJ910692637GB has arrived in BEIJING CHINA and is being processed for delivery. So, I'm not sure how to proceed. I want my watch, or a reimbursement, and I'm not so keen to go through the Royal Mail partly because I don't think they'll find it anyway, but also as I don't want any 'counterfeit goods' issues.
  4. Has no one encountered this situation previously? Would be really keen to hear some similar experiences. Thanks
  5. Hi All, need some advice please. I've been around these forums for quite a few years, and bought watches from almost all of the dealers, plus numerous transactions with fellow members. Had some niggles, faulty watches etc but everything was always sorted out without too many issues. Recently I bought an item from one of our larger and better known dealers (who I've dealt with several times over the years) and had to return it as it was faulty. 2 months after sending the watch back to him (and me chasing him for confirmation that he'd received) he tells me that the item was returned because I failed to put a phone number on the package. So I call the Royal Mail with the tracking number and they tell me that it's possible that it's being held somewhere and to stand any chance of finding it I need to fill out this form from the Royal Mail. Has anyone else had to do this? If the item is found and discovered to be counterfeit goods are there any repercussions? I probably sound somewhat naive, but have never encountered this situation before. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  6. I've just ordered this datejust from Andrew aka Trusty. Should be with me in a week or two, and I'll be sure to post a review upon receipt.
  7. Hi there, I've just ordered this 36mm Datejust from Trustytime. Looks like he's got plenty of 31mm to chose from too. I'll report back when my 36mm arrives in a week or two, but I've made quite a lot of puchases from trusty over the years, and as the name implies, he's very reliable.
  8. Thanks all for taking the time to respond. Yes, I know Andrew's good, must have got at least half a dozen from him and or Joshua over the years, good to hear he's still on top of his game. Looks like time to pull the trigger!
  9. Hello friends, been a few years since i posted anything, after being a regular at the inception of rwg.cc. Those were interesting times...!! I hope everyone is well first of all. I'm actually looking for a datejust like this one http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_12&products_id=1458 but wonder if anyone has advice on these. I like this model, but as mentioned been away for ages and wonder if this a good source, good price etc. Any advice greatly appreciate. Thanks!
  10. thanks Thomas for all your work as ever. I'm feeling rather nostalgic right now....
  11. Hey K, yes, the 2nd will be easier but my grandfather, who had 10 children always used to say.... "the 1st was difficult, having 2 was double, having 3 was double again, having 4 was double again, having 5 was double again etc... etc...!!! But you're right, at least we know how to change a nappy, bathe a baby etc....! You'll love it, it is a great adventure, and great fun!!
  12. Hey K, long time no speak! Many congrats on your new gift, enjoy it, it's great! You may remember that we had our 1st child, a daughter in Spring last year, and we are now expecting our second for this next Spring. It's a wonderful time, I'd never known tiredness like it before but the good parts outweigh the rest. Just take good care of Mrs. V now, and especially around the time of the birth, and after! Crazy days having kids, but wonderful!!!!! Below picture of my baby at 1 day (with PAM you sent to me from Silix group buy, the day I received it from you!!), you wouldn't believe how quickly they change (babies, not PAM's!!). (Incidentally, I'm wearing that very same PAM tonigh, Lume'd and serviced by The Zigmeister!). Sincerely, best wishes with everything! Diego
  13. Good work! We put up our xmas tree last night, so pleased to see RWG get all festive! It did however remind me of another xmas themed forum far far away..........
  14. that'll show me to keep up to date! thanks T.
  15. I've got to say that I'm really not in favour of these 'singles', 'hot women' ads. I'm not being moralistic, I just don't want to add fuel to any fire in case I was ever caught at work...
  16. Looks much better admin, good work yet again!
  17. Ha! What did I say? Anyway, congrats to the winners! And despite always losing as long as entering the lotteries helps keep this place running then that's enough for me.
  18. Not known for my observational skills! Anyway, come on guys, get some tickets. At least you know that I have a few, and I NEVER win!!!! In fact the only reason I'm playing is to increase your chances of winning
  19. I'm in for 5, for now, possibly more later as the excitement rises to fever pitch! When's the draw date btw?
  20. Always checking watches. Always. Always!!!!
  21. Had me going for a minute I must admit!!! Good one!!!!
  22. This will be the last article I post today, promise... Quite funny that even hotels are rep'd! BEIJING (Reuters) - InterContinental Hotels will almost double the hotels it manages in Greater China over the next two years and hopes the business environment will be even better as the mainland's legal landscape improves. The InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG.L: Quote, Profile , Research), which operates 66 InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels in Greater China, reckons lax intellectual property rules and outdated franchise laws are slowing growth. "It's a big headache," Edmond Ip, IHP's greater China chief operating officer, told Reuters on Wednesday. "There are hundreds of Holiday Inns out there. I can't count there are too many. They are everywhere."
  23. Hey Guys, I subscribe to a newsletter around the wealth management industry. One article today particularly grabbed my attention... IWC Wins the Battle of the Watches Swiss watch maker IWC has been ranked as the number one luxury watch brand by affluent consumers in the US familiar with the brand in a recent poll. IWC was selected out of a group including Patek Philippe, Breguet, Rolex and sister brands Vacheron Constantin and Cartier.
  24. Oh well, another prize/lottery/competition on RWG goes by without me winning a thing! I tell you, I think I'm cursed!!!! At least the money is going towards keeping this place running, and we have a bit of fun in the mean time.
