How Do You Lume Pam Hands?

Just a quick question. I know that this is a very skillful art and can only be done by trying trying and trying again, but i just wanted to ask a simple question (please don't worry - I've already bought lumed Davidsen hands)

When you relume hands do you paint within the border (by masking or just using a steady hand) or do you remove the old lume from the bottom so that there is a space inside the hand and start again by filling it?

remove old lume and apply another film. since pam hands have such big openings...u may have to experiment with lume consistency.

hope that helps....I relume a pair but ended up buying davidsen's hands too. I scratched the black paint off in too many spots (was not careful).

Remove the old lume from the back of the hand with a knife, then push out the remaining lume from the hollow center.

Once all the lume is gone, apply the new lume from the back of the hand...

It takes practice and patience.

What tool is actually used to apply the lume?

Movement oilers are used, normally Black ones for the dial, and Yellow ones for the hands, of course depending on the size of what your luming will depend on what size you use to apply the lume...
