I will be vacationing in Hong Kong from 4/20- 4/28 and may do a side trip to Taipei which I believe is a 40 minute or so flight. Any suggestions on watch shopping?

It would destroy my CC limit if I were to shop in HK. :D

My understanding is that there are a ton of ADs and in some areas, they are quite a few close to each other. You can also check the watch manufacurer web sites for AD locations.

Prices for Rlx (as an example) tend to be around 15% lower compared to the US plus you can swing an additional 10% discount, specially if paying with cash. I would try for 15% but I hear that's a rarity.

A buddy picked up a TT in HK a couple of years ago and saved around 20%, which is a nice chunk of change. No sales tax either.

Have a fantastic & safe trip! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Make sure you raise the credit limit on your CC before you visit HK...

For watch AD....they are EVERYWHERE.... inside big shopping mall or at all tourist area.

Strongly suggest you goto AD to buy genuine watch.....spend time to shop around and ask for best offer. Unless you are interest in some hot/ or limited edition model....you may get up to 25% off from msrp.

Enjoy your trip

Find a new girlfriend. Watch addiction is an incurable disease ... lol

No way. Actually, of the two of us (she and I) , I am the lucky one here. She may not get it, but she puts up with it.

Ive been to HK twice in the last 2 years and I can tell you from experience...your CC will be tested there for sure. From the shops along Nathan Rd. to one of the largest shopping complexes in Marina City (where all the luxury cruise ships dock) there are dozens and dozens of AD's around the city. You will see more unbelievable timepieces in the windows of these shops than any store in the US or Switzerland. Dozens of customized diamond dials and bezels on watches you wouldnt even imagine could carry that off.

Shop on the Kowloon side as opposed to the busier and trendier Central side. The shop owners are much friendlier and less busy. (more time to bargain)

Enjoy and bring back some great new pieces.

Thanks for the advise. I was last there about 15 years ago myself, when it was still under British rule.. i am curious to see how much it has changed.

Anyway, i will definetly check out Kowloon.

I have looked at this shop for some time FINE TIME

34 Tien Mou W.Rd Taipei, Taiwan

They get some excellent second hand pieces.

Looks like a great site... Thanks!

On Kowloon side...many shop (AD) is along Nathan Road, fromTST all the way to Monk Kok. One thing great about shopping for genuine watch in HK is: most of the popluar model are in stock and if that branch don't, they can call around and probably bring it in from another branch in 2-3 hours.

I see noone talk about rep......you can find rep pretty wasy, just goto "Woman's Market" or they called "Woman's street" that street is located in M.K also. Few block east from Nathan Rd.

Beware most cc company pose surcharge when you buy stuff oversea.....call them to find out.

HK change a lot in 15 yrs....like a new airport (#2 in the world), DisneyLand and many more nice building. Have fun.
