Guest Sql_pl Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 Gen has the same display back as this rep. There was a limited edition with solid caseback. Cheers!
ubiquitous Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 Vanilla scent strap... Crazy! But a nice touch... I would have never known had it not been for this thread.
ahchard Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 Is it just me or does the C sticker on the rotor seem a bit smaller than the other letters???
flugel Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 It looks that way to me as well. Smaller and less bold. What's up with that, Andrew?
jj69 Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Hi This Chopard is already AVAILABLE. Its the IWC Cousteau Diver Chrono which is not available yet... I guess feeding the kids is more important. =) Have a good night, guys.. I am turning in.. its 3:39am...over here LOL Andrew Where is the Chopard already available? What is the price???
flugel Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Yes, what is the price? I really like this watch - I'll probably get a black one.
jj69 Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Yes, what is the price? I really like this watch - I'll probably get a black one. I noticed that the $100 version is in its second generation, which uses a 7750 as well (with an engraved rotor). The fatal flaw in the $100 version is the wrong color date wheel. But aside from that, it's going to be hard to justify charging that much more for this new version unless it offers something significantly more than a corrected date wheel. The stickers on the rotor will not help either.
thomasng Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Second generation didn't use the 7750...It used Asian 21J movement.
verbal Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 $328..... ouch... suddenly my excitement drifts away. Will have to think twice before ordering. Anyone in for a group buy :-)
AMK000 Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Definately these new chopards are much better than the early asian version. Though still have some faults to fix (both on black and white dial versions). You can read all about them in TRC (on the Eyecandy section). PD: Both Angus and Andy were very helpfull explaining how the watch is made.
doopey Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 (edited) $328..... ouch... suddenly my excitement drifts away. Will have to think twice before ordering. Anyone in for a group buy :-) Well Angus promised to organise a group buy, so I'll just wait a little longer. Edited April 10, 2007 by doopey
verbal Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Guys, are there different models on the market.? I've found a few images from the caseback and I guess we have to wait untill version 2 is on summer sale....
ajoesmith Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Guys just want to clarify a few points/ observations I've made on this new Chopard It has an Asian modified 7750 usually the 7750 has running seconds at the 9 o'clock position this watch has running center seconds so the center seconds is actually the chronograph seconds and its constantly running. Just like on a regular 7750 if you start the chronograph the center seconds will start. Does this seem right?? If so then what about reliability?
longshot Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 I noticed that the $100 version is in its second generation, which uses a 7750 as well (with an engraved rotor). The stickers on the rotor will not help either. my asian version (from mr grumpy pants ) arrived two days ago. it's been in the shower just fine, is running +8 seconds and looks great. it does have a noisy rotor, but the rotor is huge and it does have a display back. yeah i wish it had a black datewheel, but paying $200 more for a black date wheel and stick on lettering on the rotor and still only getting an asian movement did not make much sense to me only bummer is i think it's actually too big for me...
pivaro Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 There was allso a leather strap , they were working on for the chopard but i don't see anyone putting it up for sale . Did they decide not to produce those or can we order them in the future ? I really liked the leather straps that were shown in the topic over at ..... P.
