  1. Gorgeous watch and good choice on the rhodium dial . If they are indeed repping this one , i doubt they'd ever get this version right .
  2. Rest assured , you proved one thing and one thing only : you're not to be taken seriously .
  3. QUOTE : I am being funny as a by product of having a little money. may fall on deaf ears here though. Unless you have ever been in that postion you might not know it really happens. Trust me it does. Rent a Ferrari for a week and PM me and tell me how long it was before someone pulled a big, obvious jealosy trip on you. I don't have to rent a ferrari ,i've had a porsche for a couple of years and guess what : i didn't make me act funny in any way . It was just a car to me , a very fast and nice car , but it never made me an ass like you . QUOTE :A lot of people are threatened by people who have more stuff than them guys. Standard sh*t. But if that is beyond your experience be a man and admit it instead of trying to pretend you know something about it. You couldn't know unless you have made a couple bucks and run in certain circles. Trust me , it's not your stuff that bothers me , it's your obvious psychopatic nature . QUOTE :And to your last comment, let me tell you one more thing little man. Trust me when I say that questioning myself is something that I do everyday. I'm not little by any means , physically nor financially , sorry if that bursts you little bubble . QUOTE: I guess my hopes aren't high but I ask you: What humility do you bring to the world? Are you the best at what you do? I am, and not just because I say so - as judged by my peers. I have won awards for my achievments. Have you? What have you created and given life to from nothing? Have you ever done work you are truly proud of and humbled by? I doubt it. You're terrible at reading people , that's a fact proven . I don't think i'm the best at what i do , i know i'm good at what i do though . I did win some awards in the past , being best student was one of them .. again sorry to disappoint you . What have i created ? On the personal front : a nice family with 4 sons , if i 'm bragging it's about them , i just can't help it . QUOTE : That you can prejudge a man by reading a paragraph just further proves to me that you have not an ounce of what it takes to be successful at anything. It is impossible to be good at anything if you are judgemental. I guarantee that you have some low or mid level career with no real talent and you will always be at the station in life you are at now. And that goes for many, many that have posted in this thread. Find all the successful people in our membership and you won't find one that tries to encapsulate a man or a situation or a life by reading a sentence or two. And there are many successful people here trust me. Barons of industries, talented artists, small business owners, and yes, even smart assed pr*ck hedge fund guys like me. So you see it is that and not my car which separates us - and you thought I was just some d*ck with a smart mouth. It' your personality that separates us , not your wealth ( you must come from some poor background to act this way about your money ) . As it happens i'm just that : a small businessowner , in fact i own two , sold a third 2 years ago to have more familylife . It's never been about the money . QUOTE : I would never hire a guy like you in a million years. Hilarious , dream on , buddy . I'd rather stay my own boss , imagine working for you :i think i would prefer complete poverty . QUOTE :Kind of like the exhaust that comes out of my Porsche that you like to quote so much. Which is fine by me of course but I would do what I do for free. Would you? Could you? For free , no ; i have a family to support but i love my work to bits and that's been the case for allmost 20 years . Get it in your thick skull : you're the frustrated boy , not me . PS 1 no doubt you got it in your head you're the smartest in the class . This could well be the case , allthough , i must point out to you that english is only my third language . If it was my native one, i could easily rip your kind apart . In fact i think i just did . PS 2 You must think i dislike you , but i really don't . I just want to help you to become human (again ? ) . Consider it being my good deed for christmas . All for free .
  4. QUOTE Just say, "Nice Car..." or whatever like I would for you and leave it at that. Then I will respect you and others will too. That goes for cops too. Priceless , a cop is not a person worthy of any respect before he has made some nice comments about my car . QUOTE I'm not a smartass because I'm in a Porsche, but it was the car that made him see it differently. I beg to differ , it was YOU that made him see differently QUOTE Not once have I ever been bothered by what another man has, especially if it is nicer or more expensive than mine. Neither should any of you... You're making a huge typical mistake here , any criticism is a form of jealousy to you . Well , it's not . I know you won't believe that , because if you did you would have to question yourself .
  5. Kudos to the cop for fining you , he's got my sympathy . As for you , Robbiewhatever , stop thinking you are better than everyone else . This topic is nothing more than a blatant cry for attention , pityful .
  6. Does that mean that you sold your 00008 after all ? Only 6 days ago you opened a thread titled ' My one and only ultimate rep ' , today you say you haven't owned a rep in years ?????????? PS i think you are a heavyweight on this forum anyway , you should stay no matter what .
  7. Not that it's that important , but for the record , Patrick ( Navi) is German , not Belgian . He just lives there .
  8. My brother , on vacation in Turkey , sent me a message a few days ago about a little watchstore he found . All reps and the best quality he ever saw . Now , my brother is not the most knowledgeable guy in the world , concerning reps that is ..... So i put him to the test and asked him to look for a few models and sent me some pics . I included a few models for him to ask for , the porsche flatsix was one of them . To my surprise the next day he sent the photo's and yes , some were the good stuff we are used to here , including the porsche design . I must admit , i never expected that . So i asked him again to ask for some prices and he did . The porsche flatsix was 900 euro , that's approx. 1400 $ . WTF . Now everybody knows one comes a long way with a little bargaining , but to no avail . Not a penny less , if he wanted that watch . My brother , in the meantime , got hooked on the porsche so much he considered bying it , overwhelmed by the quality . He's the proud owner of a few gens so he's not that easy to impress . Anyway , i guess , what i'm trying to say is this : okay , prices may have gone through the roof the last year but if you see what they charge out on the street for our superreps , that's a whole different ballgame . PS I ordered my brother one porsche flatsix already . P.
  9. My 2 cents : i'm not too happy with this freebee-review surfacing . I hope it won't become the new thing . Allthough I have the greatest esteem for Pug , i can not imagine how anyone can not be influenced by the fact the watch was a gift . There are so many different ways to describe certain flaws ; i believe by reviewing a free watch one might (subconsciously) be afraid to be too harsh. I love reviews and i read all of them with great pleasure . I prefer the reviews by paying members though . Personally i believe Pug's photographical skills were an important factor in the deal . Let's face it , it sells watches and that's what the dealers want . No harm there . Maybe it should be restricted to just that : a pictorial and nothing more .
  10. Just thought i'd mention it . To be seen at Kings site .
  11. The question has been asked before , but no clear answers . So , does anyone know what's the story on this one . Is it still to come or has it been cancelled . I love the flatsix , but i'll be damned if i get yet another rubberstrapped watch .
  12. Love the design , but already enough rubberstrapped watches in my collection. I have seen the gen-bracelet and it's really beautiful . i want a bracelet on this one . Is it still to come ?
  13. Sorry to hear about your disappointment . Anyhow , I got my 2007 a few days back and i'm very happy with it , so i guess there are two sides to every story . I feel the watch ( mine at least) deserves fully the title of superrep . The innerbezel is perfectly alligned , the daydate-allignement is not perfect but very acceptable ( i've got pictures of gen cousteau's with worse allignement ) . No dust or debris on the inside , a beautiful crisp dial with nice lume . Setting the time doesn't feel shabby , nor do i have the problem you have with the minutehand moving . Chronobuttons feel very nice and reset is perfect . Rotating the innerbezel is something i haven't done yet , i think i will leave it as it is , so i can't compare . I asked my dealer to take his time to source me a good one and that is just what he did ( it's precious time ). I also have the steelfish so i can compare the two and the qualityfeel is there in both cases .
  14. I'm interested also , I'd like to have my ingy AR'ed .
  15. Just another little question on day-date misallignement on asian versions : is it something that you can manually adjust or not ? Are all the pics in dealers-presentation taken from swiss versions because i can't really see a misallignement there ? P.
  16. looks really amazing , you wear it well allso . This is a must-have for me . One thing that bothers me though looking at the picture . Is the date in changing mode or is the 11 misalligned ? Hope you can clear that out for me . P.
  17. Hi and welcome , i'm a regular customer of PT and i think he's the safest bet being a EU-member . He can get you any watch you want , just ask him . Got nothing but good experiences with the watches he sent me . Communication is normally very good , the last weeks he seems a bit slower but always comes through . His prices are correct , sometimes a bit higher but then again , no hassle is worth an extra buck . P.
  18. I really like the ferrari chrono's , i've got the 0008 and like it so much i'm thinking of purchasing another ferrari chrono . The yellow dial seems pretty accurate except for the number two : on the gen a small part of the number appears behind the subdial . On the rep there's nothing . If you do the comparison you will see what i mean , kinda difficult to explain . Apart from that very minor flaw ( it wouldn't bother me ) it seems perfect . On the granturismo-chrono however i see more obvious flaws . The hand of the right subdial should be silver , not black ( or is it the picture that is misleading ?) Where the hell did those L's go beneath the six . It should say 'L swiss made L' .On the other chrono's they did it right , why not here ? For some odd reason that does bother me . PS I'm not trying to bring this model down , it's very nice , but flawless it is not .
  19. There was allso a leather strap , they were working on for the chopard but i don't see anyone putting it up for sale . Did they decide not to produce those or can we order them in the future ? I really liked the leather straps that were shown in the topic over at ..... P.
  20. Nice one guys , heart skipped a beat or two but i'll live .
  21. it could be the difference in lighting but i find the orange of the rep not sparkling enough (on this comparisonpic anyway), gen looks to be much crispier . Hope it's not the case , 'cause i really like the orange-blue dial contrast .Nevertheless , looks like a winner in my book . P.
  22. Got the same combo as pho today and i can't but agree with all the hype . My lume is very good applied , looks very smooth and is more than good ( no superluminova , but good) , doesn't need an extra lumejob . P.
  23. Alltough i'm aware you could be right , i can't help but feeling offended , since i 'm just made a suspect . If this kind of paranoia , i'm not saying it's not the logical sentiment , remains here in the community it will be the end of an era , no matter what . That's sad . P.
  24. Happy noob here too . The reason why i'm happy is that thanks to this forum i've purchased a bunch of watches ( a very small collection , just three) that are all beyond my initial expectations . I've got a tag link chrono , a iwc ingy and a pam 111h and they all look the part and keep excellent time . Maybe i'm being a little naive , but i'd like to think that i knew what i was doing when i decided to purchase .Thanks to some great reviews (by-tor , Pug and others) i got a pretty good view of what was being presented , The Zigmeister is an essential part to the community , reviewing the different movements and their reliability . So , i think , the key to being a happy customer is to rely on customers-reviews , not dealers-ads . The thread Pug opened however is a vital one . Nobody likes to be lied to , it's a matter of repect ; if i was to purchase a watch that was presented to me as being superlumed and it turned out to be not the case , i would be downright angry . I'm now waiting with great anticipation on the chopard GT XL . Will i buy it the moment it hits the market , no i won't . I'll wait for some of my fellowmembers on the board to write a review and then i'll decide . Bying on impulse is a big no-no in my book . P.
