  1. I have used both Polywatch and CapeCod. Both work fine, but CapeCod works faster so that is the one I use now. Probably, however, CapeCod is a little more "harsh" on the plexi so I would imagine it wears it more than the more subtle Polywatch. Results are similarly good, though.
  2. Impressive review, Lanikai!! Thank you!!
  3. Well, but I do see that you edited it... My dear Rolexman, judging by the tone of your second and third post in this thread I cannot be surprised of the first one. Education is something perfectly compatible with dedicating time and effort into this and into any other community. I suggest you learn some. Will you report this request as "offensive"?
  4. Yep, I've read them. I see there are also some rules which make refference to the use of insults or swearwords like "smartass"... I would still edit your signature, though. For Shakespeare's sake.
  5. Rolexman, if you are going to be so strict about preserving the English language for the Forum you should first edit the quote from Narikaa you have as your signature. It is not proper English. ("easily" instead of "easy") I don't know where it says that the Forum language can only be English, by the way. Amigo: no s

    Beijing

None?! There has to be SOMETHING in Beijing...
  7. I have to travel to Beijing on Friday... Any collector worth visiting there or are they all in Hong Kong? Any help or indications will be highly appreciated.
  8. He should therefore buy it in the second-hand market...
  9. mmm...the first version did not have any serial numbers at all... I hadn't noticed about the dial: I think I just assumed it HAD to be anthracite, but on a second look it seems pretty obvious it isn't. That, or DSN is a lousy photographer (like me!! )
  10. I notice that Davidsen has posted on April 25th his "NEW" 89 GMT... He seems to have solved the skinny minutes hand and the backcase numbers problem... Is it now "perfect" or has he messed up with something else I am not able to notice? I feel tempted...
  11. Genial, Manuel! Thanks for sharing! It nearly feels as if I was there too...(nearly...)
  12. You are an Artist, Marco! You enjoy your work and your projects so much that you make me feel as if they were mine too! Congratulations
  13. Hey, Marco, don't complain!! The fact that both you and I have problems with the power reserve of the 2892 because we do not shake our hands enough...speaks very highly of our wives!!
  14. Corgi, it is dark here already so this is the best I can get under the kitchen's light... You are right: there are no seconds. Patek argues that since the chronograph is based on a "wheel of pillars" (?? sorry, it is a direct translation from Spanish) it barely uses power reserve. So you might as well leave the chrono working to supply the seconds hand... Odd explanation, though. The dial for the chrono is very innovative, I think. Both the hours and the minutes run in the same counter at six. At first I thought it would be impossible to read the times, but once you get used to understand that a full round is 30min it becomes easy. Here are the few lousy photos I managed to get now. However, you can see here two phenomenal photos (http://www.mundopanerai.com/foro/viewtopic.php?t=2983) as well as the full story (in Spanish) of the 5980.
  15. I was waiting for my brother in law (the-one-who-knows-how-to-take-good-photos) to come around my home and take some pictures of this beauty. But we don't get much family time these days and I have had this watch fully modded for over a month now... So I decided to try myself with my son's camera. The results are lousy...too many reflections...but I still feel they are worthy of being posted if just to praise the good work done on the watch. This is my 27A (River's version, with ETA 2893 mov) with Lello's datewheel and Sssurfer's cyclops. Everything arranged by Sssurfer. I have to say that aside from the sheer pleasure of having this beautifully nearly-perfect 27A, it was definitely better to come across these two gentlemen. Suffice to say that Lello sent the datewheel to Marco even before I had paid him (I told him it would take me a week to pay him because I had ran out of paypal-funds for the month). And Marco, well, not only an expert in PAMs, but a wonderful person and, by now, a friend. Thanks again, Marco. And thanks to RWG for allowing me to meet these wonderful people...and to get these beautiful watches!
