What is this movement?

I have decided that I am not happy about the date wheel placement on this mystery watch. It seems to be too far inwards relative to the date window of the dial.

I had assumed that the movement was an ETA 2836, but it appears that it is not. This is perhaps why the date wheel is slightly off. I think that the dial is made for ETA 2836, but housed in this mystery watch is something else.

Can you identify what this is?

It seems to have a fake ETA stamp as well.

Maybe I can swap in an ETA 2836?

Would the hands fit onto an ETA?

Or is this an ETA?

Possibly an Asia movement? The CN stamp does not mean Conf

A pic of the whole movement might help

Bigger pictures would help, the "DM 2888 CN" are standard ETA marks, I think the DM is for the Date of Manufacture.

Looks like an older version of the 2824/36 model, hand sizes would probably be the same as a modern ETA.

Maybe it is ETA, I don't really know.

I can't find a model number stamped on it.

If it is indeed an ETA, what movement is it?

I think I would like to replace the movement, or at least the datewheel. I'd like to see if I can get the date to be a little more off to one side than it is now.

Sit tight on this... I may have a solution coming in a few days that will not only center your date, but improve the aesthetics with better font...
