To AR or not to AR....that is the question

Hi guys I am about to completely mod my 063 and I am debating whether or to to AR the crystal. I was told that the origal 063 may not have come with AR (made in 2000). Does anyone know for sure about this?

I guess I agree with you. However, I was told that the AR can look weird with the cyclops. Although, I am not sure if this is true.

Double AR is the way to go, it'll "make" the watch, trust me

My understanding is that if you send your gen to an AD for a new Crystal it will be returned with AR.

I'd go with AR even if the gen AR is a little different in colour than what the reps have.

Wow...totally surprised by the responses. Personally, there's no way I'm going to AR my 63 when I get the mods done. It's one of the only 2 or 3 PAM reps we're able to truly get to 99% perfect, and adding AR would mean adding an instant tell. Not gonna do it after spending more than a grand to get even smaller details right.

Phoband's point is well taken, but IMO the point of reps is to replicate and unfortunately the 063 didn't have AR. I like AR crystals much better than non AR but, hey, accuracy is accuracy....

BTW, I'll be able to report soon what happens to the watchmen cyclops w/ AR--as I type, I have two watchmen cyclopsed crystals in chieftang's single sided run.

I will not be coating my 063 crystal with AR. It's too perfect as is. To each his own, but I'd definitely leave yours uncoated.
