cornerstone
Noticed these on King's site - possibly new Lange reps using the mystery big date Asian mvt we saw with Breitling: With a big date, and subdials at 4 and 7 this would be a very exciting step forward for Lange reps - it's nice to see them working on this brand at all. Of course, the movement is an unknown quantity. Between the two models here, a 'perpetual' is perhaps trying to bite off more than they can chew, while the 'flyback' has a moon at six that needn't be there as far as I'm aware. But this is potentially big progress. Anyone else noticed these? (Or are they not news?)
jfreeman420
Saw these a while ago. Very nice looking, but I would like to see the flyback in the white dial with the bigger subdials. That would be more accurate I think. I don't know why they insist on adding that moon phase when the gen only has one in platinum.
cornerstone
You're right - I think the rose gold only comes with a white face as far as I know. Here's a gen with a black face:
rek001
Yes I noticed this on King's site - very interesting. But, less shiny subdials please!
dadog13
guys, I think this has the asian movement...so i am concerned a little bit regarding the subdials working or not?...i think that the subdials have no real function... but thinking about these more complex reps...i wouldn't mind having one with a perfect dial and case...without the need that all the subdials are working or not... sssurfer
mystery big date Asian mvt Seagull TY-2871 (w/ subdial hands moved 1 hour downside). i am concerned a little bit regarding the subdials working or not?...i think that the subdials have no real function... Subdial @4 HR: month. Subdial @8 HR: day of week.
cornerstone
Seagull TY-2871 (w/ subdial hands moved 1 hour downside). Subdial @4 HR: month. Subdial @8 HR: day of week. Ah, crap. So that means it's not a chrono.
anton
Speaking of Asian "Big Date" movement used in Breitling reps...(specifically that uber-hideous fake tourbillon) I once overheard a seller in canal st. mention that it was a 52-week counter rather than a date counter. (I saw one that needed to be wound and it was at "39". I laughed until I heard them explain it.
archibald
There has always been a part of the chinese rep industry perfectly willing for whatever reason to go through the trouble of making a half-assed reps of an unreppable watches when there are dozens of watches they could have done more accurately, and probably less expensively. My guess is that the (probably) correct assumption that in the minds of many there is very little difference between a real Lange and the rep.
