andreww Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 All I know is that its old and manual wind. Any details regarding history of this model would be appreciated, as would estimates of value.
tmg Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 Andrew, It is most likely 1950's, looks like a 6600 series case, which takes a 20mm bracelet but don't quote me on that -I'm no expert. I've see them sell between $600-$900. If you're getting or got a better deal than that it may be worth it for the bracelet alone depending on the condition. It's an attractive watch either way, great dial color. Here's my 50's 6614 with 1020 movement, it looks very close.
dluddy Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 Here is my 1950's Precision Air King - Looks to be the same vintage
pitimany Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 early 50's 6614, 1020 movement ~700-800
andreww Posted August 20, 2007 Author Report Posted August 20, 2007 Thanks guys. This is actually a friends watch. His parents had let it sit in a safety deposit box for many years. Now he has claimed it, and is looking at restoring it. I'm hoping that Zig will service it and spruce it up a little bit. If the value is only less than $800 however, I can't see putting any more into it than that.
gioarmani Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 Restore it? Hopefully just the movement. That aged patina is gorgeous.
