lupin Posted September 1, 2007 Report Posted September 1, 2007 Hello, I just got an Omega PO and I would like to know what the "He crown" is used for. Also is it supposed to move? Mine seems to be stuck in the closed position. Thank you all, Lupin
fitmic Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 The He valve on your replica is for decoration only. Be glad that your valve is closed. There are some members that lost theirs.

plaifender Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 In a gen PO the HE crown release the Helium when you are in deep diving. Not entirely correct.. the Helium valve is used to release Helium from your watch is ever subjected to deep sea diving atmospheres such as hyperbaric chambers or diving chambers (don't know who said it.. but diving bells are NOT used in modern times) where the atmosphere would be heavily mixed with helium gas because Oxygen at high pressures below sea level is very narcotic.... helium is smaller than oxygen and therefore can seap into most seals of any watch.... the valve is designed to release this helium that seaps into the watch.
