section8
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,296505,00.html DEVELOPING STORY: Russian news agencies cite the Kremlin as saying that President Vladimir Putin dissolved the government Wednesday. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov asked the Kremlin to dissolve his government, Russian news agencies reported, with less than three months remaining before parliamentary elections. Fradkov made the decision based on "the approaching major political events in the country and a desire to give the president full freedom in making decisions, including personnel," Fradkov was quoted by ITAR-Tass as saying. A Kremlin spokesman could not immediately comment on the report. Not sure how to feel about this....but my gut feeling is not good.
FxrAndy
I wonder if this has any thing to do with the bombers that were intercepted by the RAF last week???
Everythingape
The bear rears its head again. I suppose it's natural for a former superpower to demonstrate that they are once again capable. It's probably preparation to get more hardline ex-communists (siloviks?) into government. Enter new iron curtain movies and spy-novels, a refreshing change from the middle eastern focus. Victoria
That's one mother of a bomb...er....father? Yes. It's interesting that though no doubt people around the world are speaking about this, they are speaking about this ENTIRE situation with less interest and ongoing attention than say, Vietnam (1968) v. Afghanistan (1980). The pass that Russia has gotten from certain people since 1917 is disheartening...
