Guest Sql_pl
Some pics of 3717 twins... like I said in the topic title they seem almost identical now. One is a high beat 28.8k movement, other is a 21.6k version. It turns out they come with a bit different date wheel fonts. One of the watches will be modified. ETA/Valjoux date wheels are already here on my desk ready to be fitted... It will also have a k2222 double AR coated crystal which should be here late this week or early next week. This is an interesting pic showing what difference double AR coating of a Cousteau crystal makes: Hope to get at least that good result in a 3717. Cheers! rckh
Yes! the day-date fonts of 21.6k version are much better than 28.8k. I still don't understand why..... BTW; What is the thickness of 3717 sapphire crystal? Some members complain they're thin. Best Regards, Raymond
ryaku
identical except for the date wheel and movement of course? I would have bet.
slai
Hmm...since both crystals are still on the 3717s, did you find an extra 3717 crystal to send to k2222? I'm looking for one so I can get it AR-coated.
Guest Sql_pl
No, the pictures were taken a moment before I managed to push one of the crystals off.
trombone
No, the pictures were taken a moment before I managed to push one of the crystals off. hi, please can you explain, how you have removed your crystal? many thanks, trombone
Guest Sql_pl
I took the watch to my watchsmith who said he won't even try because "there is no seal around the crystal", "he may break it" etc etc. So I got back home. Opened the caseback, removed the dial/movement and movement holder and simply pushed the crystal out with my thumbs. It really is THAT simple. Cheers! subzero1
Plus, your watchmaker is wrong, there is in fact a plastic o-ring between the crystal and the bezel.
