nardis Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 (edited) I got 3rd gen PO from TTk a few months ago...and this has been my daily beater since then. But oneday when I saw this watch in the sunlight, I suddenly noticed that the dial color is not exactly black. And after that moment, this keeps bothering me. Upon thorough inspection under bright light, It still looks more 'Dark gray' than black. Yeah, it looks almost black..but it isn't exactly.. And moreover, now I don't think this dial color goes well with the greenish lume color of minute marker. What I want to know is.. -How about Andrew's 4th gen PO? Does that have the same dial color as TTk's? -And How about gen PO? Does it also have dark gray dial color? It could be just my eye problem..but I'm still curious.. Edited May 29, 2006 by nardis
Rolexman Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 (edited) Still dark grey... not really black. You can see that when comparing it to the date wheel. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=5243 Edited May 29, 2006 by Rolexman
coquito Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Don't worry. Real one is also dark grey. I was at watch dealer over the weekend and check on some real PO's. Watch is awesome and the grey dial combines very well with the brushed SS case and bracelet.
krustybrand Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 It's the same phenomenon one finds in B&W photo printing. Matte paper will not give the deep blacks that glossy paper will give. The matte black of the dial does not seem to be a deep true black in bright light.
marrickvilleboy Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 yeah it looks like gun metal colour. definitely not black so you are ok mate!
