predfan2001 Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 (edited) The other night I saw where cib0rgman had a few movements for sale so I bought one. I thought that if a had a good movement, I'd have enough spare parts to put a fantasy watch of some sort together. I started to put my 1655 Explorer II dial into a Sub case with Sub hands and a non-GMT movement. I fitted it and it looked pretty good, but kinda cheesy. It looked more like a cheap inaccurate rep that could be seen on a "Show us your worst Sub rep" post. So bailed on that one and came up with this. A 5517 Sub case with a Tudor Hydronaut dial. I bought this dial a while back and put into a 16610 Sub. The problem was it was slightly to small and moved around in the case no matter what I did. The dial fits the 5517 case perfectly. I have a replacement T39 I never used so it's going on this one. I'll probably dullcoat the dial and use a bleached blue bezel insert. And just for kicks, I'm going to make the cgs "pointy". I haven't made up my mind wheather I'm going to use Sub hands or sword hands from a 5517. We'll see! Edited November 11, 2007 by predfan2001
