My continued love of Military Watches takes this post to an unique, and very little remarked on watch, the:

The Luminox Navy Seal

Model 3001

Neat watch which avoids many of the tacky commercialised pitfalls of say, the IWC "Top Gun" watch shown earlier.

The Luminox uses tritium gas tube illumination system which glows without charge for TWENTY FIVE YEARS. Good Grief.

This is what the official site says about its unique luminescence:

"All Luminox watches must undergo additional manufacturing steps that other watches do not require. The Luminox self-powered illumination system must be installed into each and every watch. It is a costly and time consuming endeavor but it is what makes Luminox watches special. It is our raison d’

Yup, I have one. I usually only wear it when on hols abroad to places where a flashier watch might draw the wrong kind of attention. I think the watch conveys a non-ostentatious low key "think twice about messing with me" feel.

Yup that's it. It doesn't get anymore wrist time but I'll never part with it. A few of my buddies have the same watch and we are all veterans of the USAF.

Not bad considering what it's designed for an automatic movement seems pointless. And the gas filled lighting system looks great. I would still appreciate the rep makers to crank out a U Boat Night Vision edition..that would make my day.

People will think you're a bona fide spy. Not. ;) Seriously, nice watch. A little pricey...what are its guts?

BTW, Maxmsu, hope you saw my Tiffany shoutout in the Wristchecks this weekend!

yeah... I used to work for the Government, hehe, investigative stuff too... oooops too much info,

THe chrono got a swiss 7750, yeah, kinda pricy... but they only do it by contract runs, so it was very hard to get a hold of one.

where is the wristcheck shoutout?

Check it.

Ah, some DM's (or Monkey Boots) would off-set those shades wonderfully and would also be a perfect accompaniment to the 111! Not quite a mainstream Floridian look though... ;)
