seanrye
Hopefully all of my "newb" question threads aren't starting to annoy anyone....With that being said, I have a few questions about the IWC FA Jones. 1) Was a black faced gen every made?? I seem to only come across the white face gen models. 2) I am also thinking of purchasing the white face Jones rep with blue hands. However, I've read the painted blue hands are prone to chip because the dial sits too close to the crystal. Has anyone had success bending the dials down or possibly purchasing real blue steel hands instead of painted. Thanks in advance! -Sean Edited November 30, 2007 by seanrye

eunomians
There wasn't ever a black-dialed Jones.
ehtolcad
the white dial/black numeral version is supposed to be platiunum from what I remember and IIRC the serial number that is engraved on the side wasn't correct. watch out for that flaw if you indeed go for that version. i have the white dial with the blue numerals and i love it. t
silver hands version is the PLATINUM version and the engraving is wrong as the engraving at all watches are the same but is this realy important? Do you mean anyone in the world will belive you that
eunomians
Hey, despite the fact that it doesn't exist, I own a black-dialed Jones. I slapped on an acrylic crystal, and I sanded off the idiotic serial number on the side of the case. And then I fitted it with a genuine black gator strap. mrnixon
It is a beautiful watch. I have been thinking about one as well, with Swiss ETA. Is tehre any difference between the ones offered, or do they come from the same factory? If they are different, which one is recomended?

yellomen
There wasn't ever a black-dialed Jones. Oops... by mistake I think though that an AR coating would suit this watch very well... and maybe a genuine gator strap + deployant... Gator strap you can get from The Watch Boys @Euno... nice... it's got a vintage look now and looks like a marriage watch made from a pocket watch!
