Just got this from azmindreader (thanks ).

The prop it is on is a Swiss Nicole Freres , Geneve,

brass bed , 2 tunes per revolution, 10 tune

Overture, musical box.

There are approx. 12000 steel pins in the cylinder.

All these were originally put in by hand, usually by women

working in the cottage industry in Switzerland.

I have re-pinned about 7 similar cylinders in my time.

This one is original, with only 1 tip on the comb , needing to be replaced.

It is a key wind box, circa. 1850.

Enjoy.

Corgi -- It's an auto -- the gen it is based on is a handwind however.

Good decision, friend. Few people realize it, but the chinese handwind movements are not very good quality. This one will last a long time, I'm happy for you.
