Just a few lines to say that I simply havn`t been able to visit lately. I have really ran out of time and have not been able to spend any time here,whatsoever, there have been quite a few changes in my recent life which required my full input,and time, with family and helping others out. Getting older doesn`t make the situation any easier, it just takes a little longer . I love this place and have have spent many, many hours here, hence the short explanation. Thanks to you all, and hope to input when I am able, and time permits. Hope that you are all keeping well, would love to get through the past 2200 new posts that I have missed, but that is my loss. Yes the place has changed, but certainly not for the worse. I even saw new differences on the BCE 2 days ago, differences which had always been there but I simply did not notice.(Lord Rasta brought it up ). http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=80976 No other member had ever mentioned this fact .) (The minute markers in places are different on V1 and V2) Changes are happening every day...................look at Pugwash`s new avatar............... I don`t think it has the same character as the old one, but no doubt there is an excellent reason for the change. ?????

I really hadn`t noticed till this was brought up. Not all the minute markers were correct even on the v1. The 1 minute and the 46 minute markers were still wrong, but the sub dial colour was correct on the v1. ( silvery as opposed to white on the v2.) Side by side.

Good question and also one which may bring out some really interesting pieces. In my case it is a Breguet and a YM, swiss ETA, 2836. The Breguet I simply bought for simplicity and the YM, I overpaid ( servicing/waterproofing) from the dealer. So not really liking eighther they are stuck in the box , never going to get wrist time. Why do I keep them.........I shouldn`t..........they should be sold to someone who will wear them and enjoy them.

Just as a sidepoint, and one which has taken the whole thing away for me is, does anyone know ( datewise ) just when the "amateur" status went out of the olympic games, to allow full time professionals to compete. I mean to see a pro. world champion tennis player leading the Swiss team , just makes a mockery of sport to me.

Jusy been watching the past hour or so of the olympic games opening ceremony in Beijing. Never before have I seen such a spectacular light show, orchestrated with the asistance of so many people. A true spectacular if I may say so. China has really shown the world in visual form just what it is capable of. Be interested in your comments.

Whoa there, I certainly wouldn`t lift a finger if my first ex. got hit by a train,tram or bus, but this is different and when someone is down , I for one wouldn`t give them a kick .

Are you sitting comfortably, then I will begin. I would like to relay a story of a situation which has ( is ) happening to my ex. I say ex. but the truth is nearer separated, as we never got round to a divorce, and we split up 22 years ago. We are still in contact, usually going out for a meal every Fri, her cooking on Sat. me cooking on Sun, and usually helping each other when we can. It`s quite pleasant and we have our own space to do as we please. I bought a house after the split and renovated it over 6-8 years, she bought a house and I renovated that also ( glutton for punishment ). I am still here in my place and quite comfortable, she got an offer from the Doctor next door ,to buy her place , it was too good to refuse, sold the house and bought a unit (cash ). Sixteen years later, her girls up and on with their own lives, everything running smoothly, good health etc. Eldest daughter ( 2 from her first marriage) decides with boyfriend to go into property and business, they buy 4 or 5 places, rent them out etc. Only thing is they are not too savvy about business practises, nay let me say with the use of a vulgar Australian saying, " they wouldn`t know if a Bondi Tram was up them ". The long and short of it , the daughter and boyfriend ask the ex. for money to help them buy into a franchaise, She mortgages her place for the finance for the business, they pay all the instalments for the next 4 years, then the business takes a downturn , they end up splitting up (selling all the properties )and end up with such a tangled financial mess , no-one would believe. The biggest mess is the daughter falls behind with the mortgage re-payments (5 months ), ducks and dives , gets herself out of that and finds the money to pay the arrears. Two months later another demand for 2 months arrears, ok, it`s plain to see that she is out of her depth and struggling financially, not to mention the ex is living her life on edge not knowing what the next day will bring. I am not in a position to help out with a spare $200,000, like I don`t have that much under the bed. Anyway the long and short of it , her unit is now on the market, and even when sold there won`t be enough money for her to re-buy into the market. The situation is the ex. is in deep [censored], the younger daughter has offered her a place to stay, but not for her dog, as the son in law gets asthma from animals, ([censored] ). The elder daughter hasn`t enough equity in her own property ( just been re-financed) to sell and bail the ex out. So I offered the ex. and Chloe ( the dog ) to live here for as long as they wish, or until they can back out of the corner they are in. Am having to put some extra fencing up and put a doggy door in for the dog at night time. So the moral of the story, to me , never put anyone in a situation that you yourself can`t get out of. Make your own decisions but for gods sake don`t change someones life doing so. I suppose my good deed might come back to bite ME on the bum. I`m still smiling by the way, because life could be a hell of a lot worse. Thanks for listening.

Guys , doesn`t this speak loud volumes just what this site and other sites mean to these dealers. They are actually clamouring to get in here. Believe it............we count bigtime, for sales.

I thought the same thing, everything can be found on the 3 forums, We all know substantial costs are involved with any web site (forum ). When it comes time for getting the old wallet out, might be a different story. It was interesting to see so many familiar people from around the other fora, even saw Two Tone as a member, ( don`t know if it is our TT).

This place helps me to identify some of my failings, and to learn from them by looking and listening to others here that may have a difference of opinion. I may be considered old.............but not too old,........ to still learn.

Could it be that anyone with that kind of money ,certainly would NOT be spending it in China, and definately NOT on a rep site.

Please do not ever say your English is poor. I have spoken with you by PM,......... never found one mistake. The message here comes through loud, clear and understandable by anyone. Very sorry to hear of your loss. Time is a great healer, ..............to love, and be loved , nothing more can anyone want.
