sevomd Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Special production piece from Eddie. Beautiful hefty piece. From Taiwan to US in 5 days. As always a pristine transaction. Eddy
solicitor Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Wow! Very nice. What type of movement? How is the the crystal date magnifier? And isn't that the first rep hobnail dial available? Thanks.
AMK000 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 (edited) @ sevomd Great watch. Few questions if you dont mind: - Is the power reserve working ?? (forget this one , EL says yes) - Has the crystal any AR coating ??? If not is it very reflective ?? Edited June 8, 2006 by AMK000
dadog13 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 woooo-hoooo! this is a nice piece...can't wait to get mine.... wear it well!
mossanti Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 that is awesome mate..i like it so much..so much watch ..so little money
Guest Sql_pl Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Nice watch, congrats! But shouldn't the power reserve indicator stop at 40? It looks strange... Cheers!
Watchmeister Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Eddy- Great looking. I think I am in for one if any left. May have to swap out the case from an asian sub as the "dateset" button on the case irks me. By the way not the first hobnail dail on rep (8 days, PVD Power Reserve, etc.) but it looks to be the best.
sevomd Posted June 8, 2006 Author Report Posted June 8, 2006 Nice watch, congrats! But shouldn't the power reserve indicator stop at 40? It looks strange... Cheers! You are correct sir. Eddie is sending me a new one as we speak. It was such a beautiful timepiece I thought I would get it out there in pictures. Eddy
JWR Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Have you confirmed that it is a 7750 as he claimed and not the seiko PR movement from the 090?
sevomd Posted June 8, 2006 Author Report Posted June 8, 2006 Have you confirmed that it is a 7750 as he claimed and not the seiko PR movement from the 090? Didn't open it up, but I have no reason to doubt Eddie. Eddy
dadog13 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Didn't open it up, but I have no reason to doubt Eddie. Eddy if EL wrote it is 7750b1 than it is definitely so...no reason to doubt about Eddie!
solicitor Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Um, I'm the new kid on the block. Who is Eddie and how do I get a hold of him? PM okay if you prefer.
pubus Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 just take a look at our dealer secion for Eddie Lee
ehtolcad Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 i hate you so much first that wm and now this!!!
fletch512 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Have you confirmed that it is a 7750 as he claimed and not the seiko PR movement from the 090? I'm curious about that as well. If it's the 7750 movement, why does it have the datepusher at the 8 o'clock position? If it's the Miyota, why the much higher price? I went ahead and ordered this watch, and I already own a 090, so I guess I'll find out soon enough. I did ask EL whether the movement inside was truly a 7750. His response was that the miyota movement would not power the power reserve. That's obviously not the case since it works just fine in the $100-$180 (depending on features) Pam 090 reps that are floating around.
dadog13 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 just ordered mine....cannot wait to get it.... it is definitely the most wanted pam for me since starting collecting them... i have 5 of them...6 & 7 on the way...but this is my endless love
thomasng Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Looks like the movement in the 090 reps. I had a feeling it was that one because of the date pusher.
cwai02 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 The movement definitely looks like the one in PAM090. well... http://perfect-clones.com/product_info.php?products_id=398
fletch512 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 (edited) Here's the e-mail EL sent me with regard to the movement: yes 7750b1 not miyota miyota cant power power resereve and subdial at 9 oclcok date font is the same as pam 24 or pam 92 or pma 90 as it is using the same datewheel and len. Nice looking watch, no question. But I'm looking at the back of my cheap PAM 090 rep, and it's the exact same movement. Is there a reason it's almost $100 more than the most expensive PAM 090 rep (the one with sapphire crystal, A/R, improved crown guard...),and almost $200 more than the cheapo on my wrist? With a 7750, the price difference is understandable. If it's false advertising, then it seems like that's an awful lot of profit margin. Edited June 8, 2006 by fletch512
Guest eddielee11 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 it is the same movt as pr 90 or 124 sapphire brushed casing it is not miyota. i can be wrong, but i have not seen a miyota that can do the power reserve + subdial crawling at 9 oclock. why uses miyota ? miyota is more $$$ and harder to modify--cost them 15$. The maker can make their own movts why buys someone else movt? cost them 2$ the pam 90 and pam 222 are using the same movt 7750b1. same as pam 50, pam 165, pam 220, pam 92, pam 24, etc. hefty profit margin? yes if u were the manufacturer.
