RWG Technical
The cannon pin (actually it's a gear on this model) has failed. A common problem on all the Asian 7750's, new and old. During servicing I always test and and stake them so they don't fail. You can confirm this by trying to set the time, if you don't feel any resistance, the cannon pin is the problem. kingkitesurf
Well Rob, I do however feel resistance... And the hands now started to move but it run very inconsistently, stops runs stops... the last 30 mins the hands have moved 15 min total while chrono is running perfect... thats 50% of the time... I guess this one is just bad... return to dealer is the only way... I think this one is really not good... never had problems with Asian 7750's yet... this is the first... Or should I install a 7750 swiss and ask a refund for the movement...
RWG Technical
I still think the cannon pin is bad, due to your description of the problem, and the fact that this is such a common problem on the A7750. I am not sure what the best option is... RG
Pugwash
I just received ... and should send right back.
freddy333
It sounds like either the hands are loose (broken joint between hand & tube), which seems to be a pretty common problem on alot of new reps I have seen or the cannon pinion is spinning freely on the center wheel post. The second possibility is what I think Ziggy is referring to (and he is probably right). To test for either, hold the watch vertically (6 o'clock closest to floor) & set the hands to 3:15. With your finger, tap the side of the case while watching for any movement of the hands. If you see movement and you feel normal tension when you move the hands via the crown, then the hands are probably loose on their tubes. Replace the hands. But if you see movement & feel little or no tension when turning the crown, then the cannon pinion is probably loose on the center wheel post & you will need to increase the tension between the two parts. If the watch is new, I would send it back like Pugwash suggested.
