WhatWatch
Just received my first rep and absolutely love the watch (bought from Paul) , looks really nice and delivered pretty fast too. However I don't like the strap, would much prefer a leather or rubber strap. Am not sure if its possible to wair a leather or rubber strap on these and look creditable. Any of you guys have suggestions?, do any of the dealers here sell ones suitable? Thanks.
Highflyingclive
It has been done, many times - and in my view, is a great improvement. There was a thread on one of the forums recently of a similar conversion, mounting a Daytona on leather. If a Sub on leather is good enough for Demsey, it is good enough for anyone! Straps with a replica Rolex deployant appear on e-bay from time to time. Alternatively, have a custom strap made by www.banda.com and recycle the clasp on your current bracelet. You need a deployant - a standard tang buckle would look very silly. Happy timekeeping! Clive

alligoat
Some of the early Subs came w/ the black or dark brown leather straps. And of course, our hero, James Bond (Sean Connery) was pictured in one of the early movies w/ a sub on a black strap (leather, I presume). And Silix has the old early Subs w/ the brown (crocodile?) straps. It's a great change of pace and a great "vintage" touch. Le piece de resistance would be a leather strap w/ the Rolex logo on the buckle- I've seen them somewhere around on ebay....
