Questions on the 5517 Miltary Sub

Hi guys, I wanted to get this nice sub throw in a tudor dial/hands - ideally this should work even without a MBW. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The 5517 usually sold by the dealers comes with a Nato strap. Do you know if the strap can be replaced ? Are the lugs fixed?

Yes the 5517 comes with fixed bars normaly and you can change the strap but only for something like a nato that could be threaded through or sewn on. RLTwatches does a nice leather nato.

Does anyone know if the 5513 and the 5517 are identical watches other than the dial differences ? The 5513 has a SS bracelet, therefore correcting this fixed bars dilemma for me.

I think predfan nocked the solid bars out of his and fitted 2mm spring bars and it looked good

I'm completely happy with the transformation from a 5517 to a 5513. I think it's the way to go if you want to mod a vintage Sub. I have several vintage Sub reps and this is by far the easiest one to mod. It is the only one I have that accepts a Tropic crystal.

My real concern is fitting a gen tudor dial/hands on a vintage sub. 5517 seems to work if you don't mind the big lug holes after modifying, but i was wondering if a 5513 would accept a gen dial too? That way I would avoid having to modify the bracelet.
