UK modding?

Hi all, I hope somebody can point me in the right direction. I have purchased a UPO from Trusty recently and would love to get the Omega logo replaced with the correct one from a Silix dial and also double AR'd. However i live in the UK and dont fancy shipping the peice back and forth to the States or elsewhere. Does anybody know where I could get this done in the UK? Please help!!

You need to remove the caseback to remove the entire movement out of the watch. Then you need to carefully remove the hands and once you've done that you have removed the dial!

I've done some experiments on inexpensive quartz watches to just get a feel of what it's like to assemble/disassemble watches but I am still not confident enough to try this out on my reps. The furthest I go with reps is to remove the entire movement with the dial and hands still attached ;)

It would be brilliant if we had a modder in the UK who could work on the most popular brands! I would love to get a TWP job done on my 111h here in the UK  Hopefully one day though :)

..hmm dont think I feel confident enough to start dismantling my new time piece so it looks like i may have to chance shipping it after all. It really suprises me that there are no UK modders about <<light bulb flashes>> maybe ive just had my million pound revelation!!! :D

It's simply not worth the hassle in the UK.

I looked into offering mods/simple repairs but did the maths and you'd end up having to do 20 jobs to cover one slight [censored]-up. Or, you're charging so much per job, you get called greedy.

For instance, once you're taking postage into account, and materials and insurance, you're earning a couple of quid an hour, unless you're actually trained in this line of work.

Yeah i see your point Pugwash! Just a shame us guys in the UK have to miss out on getting our watches modded to the standards Ive seen on these boards. With all the worry of shipping internationally and customs etc its just a hassle to have to seek help outside of the UK. Guess I'll just have to live with it the way it is for now. Still a lovely watch.

Do what I did: learn to do it yourself. It's really not hard.
