2893-2 Movement question.

I have bought this as a transplant movement for my 029 but I'm just a little worried about the placement of the stem.

Is it just a matter of afixing the dial so the stem is in the 3 oclock position or is this unsutiable?

Probably,

The first 2 things to address would be dial feet position (or clamps) and hand sizes. Obviously the date wheel position needs scrutiny as well.

It is stamped ETA 2893-2 so I'm hoping that the hand size and dial feet position are standard.

All a bit too late now really as I jumped in without thinking and bought it...

this is a standard ETA 2893-2, Mido have just changed the dial position and date window position for their design, the dial feet will be in the same position so the PAM dial will fit, also the stem will also be in the same position.

What 029 are you using?

I have an Ocean7 G-1 GMT on the way that I'm going to wear for a few months and then transplant the movement into either a 029 or a 063. I think the 063 might be a bit more accurate, but the dial strikes me as too busy.

I know DSN sells hands for for 2893s, but the pointer on his GMT hand is too big. I'm going to investigate if there is a possibility of modding the small GMT hand to work...

I was looking at saving a few bucks and getting the asian case but this doesn't have Saphirre glass and I don't know if The Zigmeister can use the movement holder in that one.

I believe all of the dealers have the same case so any swiss one will do.
