capice Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 Recently I bought this movement from a member on another board, as an swiss ETA 6497-1 17j movement.. As the parts being stamped with panerai looked real thin and "non genuine" to me, I was wondering if somebody could tell me if this is a real swiss ETA? Thanks in advance
capice Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 Got a tip from TWP, tnx bro. Any other opinions?
PAMman Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 It's a Swiss ETA with Asian foil Panerai style dceorations added. Functionally it's 100% Swiss and, IMO, in a solid caseback watch is the best option.
z3k0 Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 I would say Swiss, with Panerai engraved plates on top. Notice that shock protection is Novodiac, not Incabloc - although I'm no expert, but I think asian 6497 use only Incablock, and I've seen Swiss with both. BTW, this one have OPII style bridges, so closed caseback is best for this (or 036). regards
FxrAndy Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 Real eta but not real panerai, i have the same in my 183
capice Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 tnx all, now I have to get myseld a case, back and some hands
