My next car, the Aptera

This car is about the coolest design I have seen. It is either all electric or a hybrid that gets 300 MPG. Cost is 29,500, and they are taking orders with a 500. deposit. It goes from 0-60 in 10 seconds and tops out at 90 MPH.

Cool, but I think I'll go for the Fisker Karma:

...It's a plug-in hybrid, which gives you 50 miles before it burns any fuel...perfect for my commuting habits. Plus, it's quick, at <6 sec. 0-60...And the company is just up the street from me, in Lake Forest.

Interestingly (or not interestingly), I know the Aptera folks and Mr. Fiskar. Not important, but facts nonetheless. The Aptera designer is working on a 2nd model that is more like a car.

Actually, i've read that Aptera borrowed cage design from F-1. should be pretty safe.

Fxr Andy, It is not a concept car it will be in full production by October 08. They are for sale now. It requires a motorycle license as it is a 3 wheel vehicle. The body is fiberglass, as is the Chevrolet Corvette. You don't not want to crash in any car, to be sure, and one like this is less safe than having steel around you, but probabably safer than a motorcycle. Not reccomended for pussies.
