Are the edges on the SMP 2531.80.00 bracelet supposed to be sharp or blunt?

Are the edges on the bracelet supposed to be sharp or quite sanded down? I'm thinking the edges on mine are too sharp looking and therefore might need sanding down. What do you guys think?

Thanks guys, Gioarmani do you think that I can sand the edges down with wet and dry sandpaper? My dad thinks that it's not enough to remove a good amount of metal to have that blunt curved effect.

You can't help with the curved effect. Solution: is to get genuine Omega bracelet. Indeed the edges are blunt.

Thanks gio, I really love the SMP! It's been getting a lot of wrist time recently. However, this one has really weak lume on the dial markers, its pretty much non-existent so I'm thinking of purchasing the ETA version.

The ends of the links should taper or curve in cross-section and no amount of sanding will get them to taper correctly.

Yeah I see what you mean. The bracelets on the ETA versions appear to be better made and probably closer to the gen in appearance. I thought I could create that look in my watchs' strap but it seems like it wont be possible by sandpaper.

Yep, the edges of the bracelet curve from the middle if you look at it in cross-section, it has to come that way from manufacturer.

I gave up on my rep SMP bracelets. I sanded and rounded till I thought it looked pretty good, then compaired mine to a gen and saw first hand how bad mine was. I got lucky and found a gen on eBay cheap ($100). Put it on my GMT but it required drilling new lugholes. Now it looks and feels right. If you really like the SMP (and who wouldn't) it's worth trying to find a used gen bracelet. I think I read here that some of the older reps had better bracelets but I'm sure it would be impossible to find one.

Rep after rounding and shaping. Still thin and flat
