Opinion on Two Different Straps?

I've narrowed down my 1st Strap purchase to two different straps for my PAM253 and I was hoping to get some opinions from the experts.

They are both basically the same looking strap. I do want to know how you think it would look on the PAm253. What I'm also looking for is your input on what you think the differences are between the Strap Culture Strap and the TC Strap?

It seems that Strap Culture has a cult like following? Is that true or am I reading the forums wrong? While the TC Strap seems more traditional or old school???

Which is better quality?

Any help you could give me would be GREATLy appreciated!!!! Thanks!

I've never seen either strap in the flesh. But, one thing I would recommend is that, unless you have a specific need for the strap to be waterproof, I'd stay away from "waterproof" leather. I find it plastic feeling and not nearly as nice as non-waterproof.

Other than that, both seem to be your run-of-the-mill machine made straps.

Sean, it's been said before, but allow me again -- some guys LOVE StrapCulture. They love the feel, the thickness, the machoness of the strap.

Me, I like the buckle, but the leather is ABYSMAL. No East Asian leather will ever ever come to the feet of an Italian hide (the one exception seems to be HKTan's).

However, that said, the Toscana you reference is very ugly, no offence.

I have a very similar one, in "cioccolata", seen here:

Eh.

I really would buy a better strap second-hand on Risti. Savage has some really cool straps going at the moment.

And these are great.

So, to recap, if pressed of the choices you gave us, the Strap Culture one -- but look around. I'm SURE you'll find better stuff.

@Savage: Hey there!

I have a 253 and that strap you have on the picture does not match well with it! Just my personal opinion! The best match for me is:

for casual rugged look, I'd go with a Platinum colored Carbon Fiber:

and for formal look, I'd go with a black real croco or alligator: http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/y...9_1987_12551886

or a blue: http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/y...69_1984_2062141
