Lack of experience - he only turned 17 and got capped for the first time this year. Playing together and being a team is the USA's big card and big advantage over other teams. (Historically) most of the national squad are together months before the other teams (who are busy playing for their clubs), so a player with limited experience with the squad is at an extra disadvantage.
