vlydog
I purchased the movement below from t and had if installed by Ziggy in my 112 turned 219. Even though this movement is beautiful and functioning well it is not correct for the model. Is there any way to attach a swan neck regulator or the appropriate bridges from another movement? Is this a good idea to begin with? Am I out of my mind? Should I be happy with what I have? I would appreciate any and all advice or feedback. yellomen
No chance to make a swan neck regulator on that movement without really, really serious modding! So better forget that. If you want a correct movement i suggest you contact Angus and buy a movement (H series) with swan neck from him.
peepshow
Even with a swan neck, that movement is wrong for your 219, sorry. The blue star on one of the wheels has no business being there. The bridges are the wrong shape AND wrong decoration. Rep movements are dead giveaways at any rate, to people who would know the differences between A-D, E-G and H-present movement decorations. What I was looking for was something unique. Should I back track and install the original movement or leave it the way it is?
peepshow
Is the original movement Swiss like that one? I say leave it the way it is. Like I said, anyone who knows enough to spot the wrong movement will know it's a rep by the level/quality of decoration, anyway.
sssurfer
Personally, I see no point about installing a D movement into a H+ model. Would you post a pic of your original movement?
